It’s sustainable and cool to shop secondhand for your clothing nowadays. As a fashion lover on a budget, I’ve often looked around the Hague for good secondhand shops for buying quality vintage clothing. These are my favorite secondhand stores for scoring affordable clothes! Some will also buy secondhand clothes, but not all will.

Before a ton of people comment that I left off Vintage Island and Episode, I find that the quality for the price is quite low (except during kilo sales!) compared to many other vintage shops that hand-pick every piece in their collection. When shopping for vintage items in the Hague, I prefer shops that focus on quality and affordable prices than the same ’80s shirt that I could find for 1 euro when shopping at a rommelmarkt!

If you’re looking for something very specific, I often have good success looking on Marktplaats as well as Facebook for quality brands at a significant discount. (For shoes, just type in your size and the brand!)

Reshare (Salvation Army)

Although I’ve passed the Reshare store near Chinatown many times, I only recently stepped inside. The Reshare store is a spacious secondhand store with a great organization scheme. Here you’ll find a clear yet easy-to-browse selection of clothing for both genders as well as shoes. They have a comfortable dressing room and it’s hard to know what you’ll find here. Check often as they receive tons of clothing each week from around the Hague! Prices are quite cheap!

Bij Priester is such a unique concept! For about 20 euros a month, you have access to this clothing “library’ where you can browse from new designer pieces along with certified quality vintage pieces for those small touches to make your wardrobe more unique. Their clothing tends to have cool yet retro vibes with a minimalist touch.

If you’re into minimizing your wardrobe, this is where to come as you can get a new item of clothing to wear for a month prior to returning it for a new “it” piece that you’ll be wearing more than that cheap dress you bought just-in-case for 10 euros. Create a better world and be fashionable. How can you beat this!?

evy’s vintage

Evy’s is not your grandmother’s vintage store. Evy specializes in high-end vintage for those of you who are lovers of vintage Louis Vuitton, Prada, and other A-brands. This spacious shop carefully culls their selection to focus on high-quality vintage items, if you’re not really a vintage lover yet love a luxurious touch, at least steep into Evy’s. There’s nothing like mentioning that your new bag is vintage.

Zusjes vintage boetiek

It’s hard not to step into Zusjes, which is the cool new renovated part of Boekhorststraat. This secondhand shop has a slightly hipster feel, but don’t worry if you’re not a hipster yourself. I was impressed by the color-sorted clothing with a playful touch. Rather than specializing in just one period, they have a revolving collection with different periods of clothing at a time. At least pop-in as you’re picking up a craft beer at Dorst next door!

Bibeloo Enzo

Bust and clothing racks inside of a second hand shop in the Hague!

I love stepping into Bibeloo Enzo. This small vintage shop near Plein stocks a beautiful section of secondhand silverware, jewelry, and high-quality dresses for women. The prices are a bit higher than other secondhand stores in the Hague, but you’re paying for the personal touch of the owner who goes through a lot of care looking for pieces that aren’t from the local Primark. On my last trip, I found several authentic vintage pieces from the ’60s that were alas too small for me!

Second Hand Rose

For those who love a vintage touch with their designer outfit or that tailored touch, Second Hand Rose is for you! This cozy secondhand store in the Hague specializes in high-end vintage items, specifically Gucci, Chanel, and Dolce & Gabbana. If you’re looking for that extra nice touch or a beautiful outfit for an upcoming formal event, be sure to check here for luxurious tuxedos and dresses.

kringloop rataplan

Three stories of the Rataplan Kringloop

I only recently visited Kringloop Rataplan for the first time. This Kringloop (secondhand shop) on the outskirts of the Hague is a bit of a cycle, but it’s definitely worth it. You’ll find three stories of stuff from furniture to bikes to clothes. Clothing only takes up part of one floor, but the selection is very well-priced and cheap. You need to patient sorting through the racks, but the condition of the items was quite good. Good things comes to those who wait (and sort through the racks!) If you’re hungry after a big vintage shopping, consider having lunch at Amazing Oriental cafeteria next door.

ilka secondhand and vintage

Ilka is a great place for a mix of authentic vintage and stylish designer vintage at an affordable price. This affordable shop along Sumatrastraat is a hidden gem for those looking for tasteful additions to an otherwise beautiful wardrobe!

Anneke

This institution of the Statenkwartier since 1980 is a great place to look for clothing in the off season. In winter, they stock summer clothes and after summer, they gear up for winter. You’ll find a mix of vintage along with designer brands here, but just come in here to see what you find. You might be very pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff!
