One of the best cities for climbing in the Netherlands has to be the Hague, which is part of the reason that we settled here. My husband is a big climber and these are the best indoor rock climbing and bouldering halls in the Hague for getting high!

If you’re new to the Hague and you’re looking for climbing partners, we recommend joining the Hague Indoor Climbing Meetup group. This is what we both joined when we moved here and it’s a great way to make friends if you’re new to the Hague! (You can typically find a belaying partner this way!)

where to climb in the hague

If you’re just visiting the Hague or moving here, you’ll find that the Hague has two great climbing halls for indoor climbing. Both offer courses if you’re interested in improving your climbing or simply doing an introductory course to learn how to climb. If you’re coming often, it might be worth it to get a card for a certain number of climbs or a subscription to one of the gyms. (My husband has a subscription to Klimmuur.)

klimmuur den haag HS

My favorite has to be Klimmuur Den Haag. This well-run climbing hall in the Hague near Holland Spoor is full of interesting routes in good condition. Most of the routes tend to be in the 5b+ to 6b+ range, but there’s something for everyone here. You’ll also find a small amount of bouldering along with a cozy cafe for a beer once you’re done! (Klimmuur also has ice climbing for an extra fee!)

de uithof

De Uithof, an expansive sports arena towards Kijkduin, has a bit of everything from indoor skiing to indoor climbing. The gym itself has some outdoor climbing in good weather although most of its routes are best for intermediate climbers. There’s a small bouldering around, but it’s best to head to to the dedicated bouldering halls for bouldering. There’s also a cafe here!

I separated out indoor climbing from bouldering, which requires much less equipment as although both climbing halls mentioned above have some bouldering, I recommend heading to these dedicated bouldering halls instead.

beest boulders

Beest Boulders is a new bouldering hall near Den Haag HS associated with Klimmuur is quite nice. The routes are a nice mix of tricks and techniques and you’ll meet lots of friendly people while bouldering here. Once you’re done, you can pick up some nice food at the cafe!

de campus

De Campus, one of the bouldering halls of the Hague, is one of the best places to climb in the Hague

De Campus is said to be the largest climbing hall in the Netherlands. Although a bit out of the way (close to the Uithof), de campus has a great and fun number of routes for experienced climbers that will make you wonder where you begin. The climbing hall was well-taken-care-of and needless to say, it’s a great workout for those looking for a different place to boulder in the Hague.

any other climbing halls in the hague that I haven’t yet heard of?
