Who doesn’t love a stiff drink? Even if you’re going alcohol-free, these bars have a fantastic selection of drinks to offer for drinkers and non-drinkers. This insider guide to the best cocktail bars in the Hague has been a slow article to write as I’ve been slowly making my way to these bars, however I hope that it helps you find great cocktail recommendations in the Hague!
Cocktail lovers will need to look up The Hague Cocktail Week, which occurs each May. During this period, many bars in the Hague offer special cocktails at a great price and cocktail workshops are held. Sign-up online if you’re interested.
syndicaat
One of my favorite bars in the Hague has to be Syndicaat. This cozy speak-easy is only accessible with a reservation. After you make a reservation, they will send the address. The cocktails are first-class along with the service. I love coming here on evenings with jazz music and you cannot go wrong with a drink here. (It’s the perfect place to impress a date and quietly chat.
five points bar & Drink society
Inspired by New York, Dutch owner opened the Five Points Drink Society in the heart of the Hague. Here, you’ll find classics along with creative drinks with a twist in this Hague cocktail bar in the center of the Hague. The cocktails always deliver on their promise and the friendly bartenders always make coming here a delight. If you like an Old Fashioned, this is what you should order here!
Bricks Hooch & Brew
Bricks Hooch & Brew is the newcomer to the block! This modern restaurant/bar is one of the most surprising spots in the Hague. There’s no menu here, so you can tell the bartender what you like and still be surprised. For those looking for something truly different apart from boring G&Ts, Bricks Hooch & Brew is where to come.
the court
For a special date night, consider coming to the Hague. This cozy bar overlooking one of the Hague’s most charming canals serves up delicious Sardinian food and top-quality cocktails. This cozy bar’s staff goes out of their way to make the experience and its creative cocktails worth the price. Consider reserving ahead to ensure that there’s a spot for you. You won’t want to leave!
vavoom tikiroom
Transport yourself to Hawaii at Vavaoom Tikiroom! This colorful and slightly kitschy bar in the center of Grote Markt is perfect for rum lovers looking for something a bit less serious than a stiff G&T. Those abstaining from alcohol will love the Hula Hoop although I must say that their Mai Tai Vavoom is absolutely delicious!
Milú
Milu is considered one of the best cocktail bars in the Hague and after coming here once for a meet-up, I must agree. Here, you’ll find an extensive menu with more than ten gins in an upscale environment. Their cocktails are a nice mix of surprising combinations although the Dragon Wish cocktail was what I tried–and it was absolutely delicious!
van kleef
Although Van Kleef, the Hague’s oldest jenever producer, has been around for a white a time, you could only do tastings and sales here. Recently, they’ve started serving cocktails with their delicious homemade liquors and gins, so consider making a reservation with a group here to do a tasting. (They’re often full on weekends!) I haven’t yet done this, but I’m excited to see what they’ll cook up.
Any other cocktail bars in the hague that you’d recommend?
I left off Bar Eleven after a bad experience here. I went here with a friend who ordered a bourbon with a set price only to have the bartender attempt to charge him a higher price after making a mistake pouring a more expensive bourbon.
